Brigadoon Dance Academy is proud to serve Vancouver Island by performing at many community and charitable events. The Academy opened in 1995, under the direction of Diena Henry, who was born and raised in Nanaimo.

Dancers from Brigadoon Dance Academy have won championship titles at the provincial, national and world level.

British Columbia is honoured to host the the 2024 ScotDance Canada Championships Series this July, in Kamloops. The event also features the 2024 Canadian Championship. Brigadoon Dance Academy is thrilled to have 3 dancers selected to represent B.C.

We are excited to have dancers performing at International Tattoo’s around the world. This summer we have dancers who have been selected to perform at the Basel Tattoo, in Switzerland, as well as the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, in Scotland.

In 2022, one of Brigadoon’s Dancers, Annalise Lam, won the Junior World Championship, in Scotland. It was the first time a highland dancer from Vancouver Island had won a world championship in 40 years! She will compete once again at the World Highland Dance Championships at the end of August.

Our dancers will also be accompanied by piper, Kevin Dougan. Kevin is a wonderful piper and community leader. We appreciate having him play for our dancers at your event. We would like to thank Superior Farms for inviting us to perform! We love Vancouver Island!
