The Superior Farms’ Winter Camp offers 2 options:

  1. Weekend workshops – now done for the season- in December for children aged 6-12, focused on time with the animals and creating kid-friendly seasonal crafts. Weekend winter workshops are single day events that focus on completing seasonal crafts and learning about and caring for our animals.
  2. Weekday programs for children aged 5*-12 that focus on exploring the winter farm – the animals and their care – and the natural spaces surrounding the farm. During the weekday, participants will adventure through the farm discovering the winter adaptations of the farm animals and exploring the wild side of our natural spaces in the winter. **Children must be enrolled/attend a school (including home schooling) and be 5 years or older on or before December 31 to participate.

We’ll learn about winter animal care, winter growing (greenhouses), learn about survival strategies from the animals that thrive here, look for edible plants and build and play in spaces around Superior Farms. A variety of winter-themed activities and crafts are planned.

Program Details

Weekend Winter Workshops

  • Program space is limited to 18 participants, aged 5-12.
  • Programs are one day only, with options for Saturday OR Sunday workshops.
  • Programs run 10:00am-3:00pm; extended care is not available for this program.
  • The programs will all spend time with the animals and learning about their care.
  • Participants will spend their time creating two or three different, kid-friendly seasonal crafts.
  • Activities and crafts will not change between sessions.
  • Participants are expected to bring their own waste-free, nut-free lunch and snacks.

Running December 11th & 17th. These are one day workshops.
For children aged 6 to 12 years old.

In addition to time with the animals, participants will be guided through seasonal crafts to bring home.

Programs run 10:00am-3:00pm with drop-off and pick-up in the 15 minutes preceding and following the workshop times.

Full Day Winter Camp

(Not available – please see Weekend Winter Workshops)

  • Program space is limited to 16 participants, aged 5*-12.
  • Programs are full days 9:00am-3:00pm, with an extended care option until 4:30.
  • Extended care is supervision-only where children may spend time with the animals, work on their crafts, play games, or play on our sports court, based on the interest of the group.
  • Register for single days or the entire week; activities and crafts will shift throughout the week, with the exception of daily animal care, so that returning participants can expect something new each day.
  • Participants are expected to bring their own waste-free, nut-free lunch and snacks.
  • Programs run rain or shine and participants should come prepared for all types of possible weather conditions.

*Children must be enrolled/attend a school (including home schooling) and be 5 years or older on or before December 31 to participate.

Running December 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, & 29.
For children aged 5*-12 years old.

In addition to time with the animals and learning about their care, participants will be guided through different crafts and activities throughout the week with a focus on exploring the winter farm – the animals and their care – and the natural spaces surrounding the farm.

  • Drop off is from 8:30-9:00am
  • Pick up is at 3:00pm; extended care is available until 4:30.

Refund Policy

  • No refunds will be issued if a reservation is cancelled within 14 days of the workshop or camp start date. Otherwise, camp/workshop fees are refundable, less a $15 administration fee.
  • Refunds will not be issued for missed days due to inclement weather or illness.
  • Programs run rain or shine and participants should come prepared for all types of possible weather conditions.
  • Requests for cancellations or refunds must be made in writing and submitted to [email protected].
